Like you, I'm thinking of cutting back a bit on the savings & having more fun $
I currently save 35% of pretax income, and am 49 years old. Part of me is thinking to cut the savings rate back a bit and, having more fun money for the 5 years before we become empty-nesters.

I tend to be an aggressive saver so it sort of gives me anxiety to think about saving less ---- yet I keep telling myself why not have more fun while the kids are at home and save 25% or something like that? THe other part says we live well now and have plenty of fun so just having extra fun money each month might just result in "stuff" that doesnt add value to our lives. Don't know.....its a question I've been kicking around for a few weeks.
