My rec w/ kids is Island Park. Stay in the new Springhill Suite at Mack's Inn. Nicest accommodations now in the area

and you'll have pool for kids, close access to food options and some fun activities if you need a day of not driving. Floating the river from Big Springs down to the hotel is a fun, slow, lazy way to spend a chunk of a day, see incredible scenery and let the kids get wet on a hot day. You didn't mention how long you're going to be around, but if it's more than a day, your kids are going to get tired of driving and you're going to get tired of fighting tour buses for parking and a day in the forest will really help.

I've made a lot of trips up that way with kids over the years and they tire of Yellowstone quickly. You'll probably want to see more, but they'll be ready for a change quickly. Break up the driving with something else.

BM if you have questions. I was up in Island Park last week and live not too far away.
