A single citation on your record could dramatically increase your rates, depending on your age, gender, and car. You would then pay that increased rate over the next 3 years.

Sure. For a $100 fine just pay it and don't go to court. (if you have $100 and you're otherwise busy when court is in session).

But for a $1200 insurance hike paid out over 3 years? You should consider taking an hour of your day to go talk with a judge about how this is not your usual driving style.

Juice may definitely be worth the squeeze, depending on your personal circumstances.
