I haven't had a ticket for a long time because I don't go over the speed limit, I don't illegally drive in car pool lanes although I would like to, I don't tailgate and I don't cross the double lines.

Quite awhile ago I drove into a speed trap set up in SLC where they were giving just about everyone a ticket. I didn't know the speed limit there and I didn't mean to exceed it. Maybe I did but I really don't think so. In any case, I got a ticket along with hundreds of others.

I knew the traffic court judge so called him and took him to lunch. Told him my sad tale of getting caught in a SLC speed trap. Handed him the ticket and he took care of it. I also happened to have a parking ticket I had just got. Gave him that too and he took care of it also.

Friendship is a wonderful thing.

You however, I hope they throw the book at, you deserve it. You did just what everyone complains about "Utah drivers" over. Speeding, tailgating, crossing the double line, illegally in a carpool lane. I hate drivers like that, they make the rest of us look bad. And they are very annoying. That's why there are cops out there passing out tickets. Go to traffic school if you can or talk nice to the judge and promise to drive better, maybe that will work.
