The PAC could easily find themselves between a rock and a hard place. If GK presents a short-term deal for less money, the whole conference could unravel. But a long-term deal could turn the PAC into a dead man walking, similar to the ACC.
And don't forget, the B12's new deal is also very short, so to get in front of the B12 next round of negotiations would require a ridiculously short-term arrangement. Plus, if the PAC was capable of matching the B12's $31.6m #, even on a long-term deal, they certainly would have already done it. So getting a short-term deal that's good enough to keep the conference together seems dicey.
