The issue is deeper than that
I believe there IS a sharp divide of philosophical opinion about a heavy streaming deal. ESPN only has room left for the PAC after dark slot but that can only command a certain amount of ad buys because of average viewership in that window. That is the lifeblood of paying the rights fees.

A streamer is probably more inclined and positioned to pay more but it too has certain needs and goals to satisfy that may require a high level of exclusivity. Therefore, the deal would have to be heavily streamed based, which creates exposure concerns for some. More exposure and visibility is available on linear but the partners and time slots remaining there limit the amount of money that could be got.

Therein is the dilemma: more money but less traditional exposure in the here and now OR less money and the same amount of exposure that it has now.
