At U11 (10 year olds) all teams have to add at least two players. They do it again at U13 (12 year olds). These are great times to jump, to switch things up, try out for better teams. If it makes sense, switch clubs. I have 3 sons that each plays for a different club for various reasons. All clubs have their flaws. Some are run better than others. Eventually, much of the talent evens out.
Not saying that you were a problem, but you may want to do some introspection* (seriously, don't take this as an accusation).
I was willing to drop my best player because his dad was complete tool (and my assistant coach). I actually banned him from practice. His son now plays on a top team elsewhere. He's an awesome kid, a good player and an incredible athlete. Having that dad/coach gone has allowed my current team to thrive. Oh, the stories I could tell.
*Over the past 20 years I've had to change my approach/attitude several times... or just reset during a season.
