I thought Dr. Hill’s efforts to big time us on scheduling with zero regard whatsoever for the importance of the rivalry to both Utah sports and the state of Utah in general was probably second on the list. Third would be the incessant negative recruiting by KW.

KW is a great coach, very good recruiter, and an excellent motivator for his team, but he’s also petty and immature (see the Wyoming onside kick or basically any interview about BYU during the Mendenhall era. While KW is probably ten times the coach that McBride was and I believe he’s generally probably a good person, I’ll always respect McBride more because he wasn’t so petty and immature. In fairness, Bronco was also a little petty and sometimes engaged in indirect negative recruiting, but he’s not even in Kw’s league in either respect.
