the new defensive coaching staff brought in more talent to give us a shot in the Big12 and some of those original players are are now upset that they won't get playing time? Wow. I never saw that coming.

This is just dumb. We brought in a ton of guys who will be here for multiple years. Taggart, Lassiter, Etienne, Marion, Eichorn, Lapuaho, Dawe, Latu, and Dunlap. Those are all guys who can give us multiple years. The fact of the matter is our roster was riddled with guys who had no business getting a scholarship. Going into the Big12, we have until July to cut the dead weight or those scholarships are guaranteed. So the coaches had some very difficult conversations with their exit interviews. Of course there is going to be some players with hurt feelings. But guess what? If we don't do that now, then our future is going to be bleak. Better to hurt some feelings now, rip off the band aid, and get the process of improving the talent on the team started.
