And Dave Grohl has had the kind of lasting rock star career every other rock star in the world dreams of. 30+ years after Nirvana still selling out stadiums. Still making killer albums with rock gods like Paul McCartney.
No doubt Kurt Cobain transcended popular music at the time but there’s no arguing he’s more musically talented than Dave Grohl and it’s hard to picture him having the long term success Grohl has had. The guy was an absolute mess. It’s one reason he was transcendent. It’s also a big reason it could never last, even if he had lived.
