And that is why the whole idea that SBF stole people’s money through fraud is dumb. He invested their deposits as he had a contractual right to do—he just did it sloppily, in a conflict of interest position, and somewhat foolishly. But they were actual investments that generated a real return. He should go to jail but he’s no Bernie Madoff.
