And then that author proceeds to not propose any other alternative beside that we need more psychologists? I’m more convinced that might only exacerbate the issue than improve it.
Obviously saying that social media is the cause is a gross oversimplification, but I've never gotten the impression that's what haidt is arguing. Moreso I think he's trying to identify something that we can actually do to try and help.
I agree with what I think is your overall sentiment, though, that it's a lack of belonging and social connectedness that is a bigger impact. I just don't think social media does anything to help that.
