Only now are we producing adults who had 5+ yrs of teen smartphone use.
The early research on social media reflected mixed benefit, and didn’t set off as many alarms since most of the people experiencing social media were already developed adults.

Now that we’re coming up on a decade of smartphone + social media in the hands of teens and their still-developing brains, the results are clearer and unmistakably negative.
