church to pay for something that we, the fans, collectively either can’t or won’t pay for. Stop blaming the church and start blaming the fans.
Only 18 of 229 athletic departments were profitable in 2020. So why would anyone want the church to spend money on what is most likely a money loser? The reason the church is (currently) well off is because it understands the principle of saving and investing. And paying more to college coaches is a poor investment.
The mall has made every property around it more valuable. Guess who owns many of those properties? The revenue the mall brings in also pays for the initial investment. That, among many others, is why the two are completely different. One makes money, the other does not. Pretty simple in my mind.
Maybe someone else has a better explanation but that is the best I can come up with. Fans should pay for the coaches, not the Church.
