Agree that for your audience, Ambrose is not the source material you want to use
But, for the casual average American going to Normandy, Ambrose sets the stage pretty well.
In my past I was a guest speaker at West Point (that's how I got to know those instructors), but I worked more with the folks at Langley as a consultant. That's why I loved the story behind Operation Mincemeat.
