He is not without class, for sure, but on a scale of 1 to 100, this was not a
good look, IMO. I don't buy the concept that "contracts" on public announcements precluded the "thank you." Practically every coach who moves on, usually gives a pretty timely and sincere shout out to their former team and fan base. So, I doubt that Pope's "contract," "ancillary agreements," and "PR limitations" are any different. But, his delay in making that shout out certainly is different that the majority of other coaches. It's more likely an indication of where his heart is truly at, than it is about "contracts." Not something I'd expect from someone who emphasizes / advocates "gratitude" so vehemently.
