Maybe not w/o ability to charge at work
I drive an EV personally and my wife has a PHEV, so we’re fans. But all electric range on PHEVs is typically still not awesome, like a 30-50 mile range, max. So that’s 15-25 miles one-way, which doesn’t sound like it’s enough for you. That said, the hybrid range and cost of use / combined mpg on these, if you are willing to use that mode, is pretty darned good.

My wife doesn’t work, but just drives around town running errands, so her 30 is OK, but we’re not expecting for her to be able to use exclusively electric. Combined mpg for actual gas usage may be 30-50 for her, which is fine.

Again I drive a full electric, and it’s great. But it’s a Tesla with nearly 300 miles of range. I charge at home and cost of usage is a fraction of the price of a comparable ICE car. But I did burn some of that savings with a higher up-front cost. I think that dynamic may be changing when you combine solar credits and Tesla’s recent price drops. I’d definitely buy my car again and wanted my wife to get one, too, but she was worried about range anxiety. It’s real but I’ve figured it out and am unaffected by it now (Tesla’s nav system does a very good job of calculating range to the next charge for you).
