She tried jumping it and got nothing so called insurance for a tow. She had it towed to jiffy lube since it was closest. Turned out she must have made a mistake with the jump because the battery was fine, but they told us they could fix the engine stuff. I was busy at work so wasn't thinking too much about it, and figured it was as good a time as ever to get it done, since we had been talking about getting it fixed anyway. We've had oil changes done there quite often in the past w/o any issues, so we weren't too worried about it at the time. But it definitely does make more sense to go w/ a regular auto shop instead.
With doing it myself, from YouTube videos for this model it looks like there are a few parts in the way of the area you need to get to. I'm sure for someone with experience doing repairs on their own it would be easy, and I probably should get better at this stuff, but I've only ever done brakes and don't trust myself with anything else yet haha
