But before that, you switch the ignition coil to another cylinder and see if the misfire follows the coil. If it does, you replace the coil, which is more expensive than a plug, but even easier to replace.
If the misfire stays in the same cylinder with a different coil, it’s probably the plug and it cheap enough to changed plugs that you probably should just do it anyway.
I’ve gone through this process probably 4-5 times on my various vehicles.
Changing your own plugs for a tune up is pretty easy. You tube can teach you almost anything.
If you don’t want to do it yourself, just find a good mechanic that you can trust.
