Only suggestion I would have would be prioritizing Normandy over the Loire Valley, though I recognize that is a personal preference. Omaha beach and the American Cemetery (with its rows upon rows of white crosses), is just an overwhelming experience that I believe every American with a sense of history and sacrifice should see and experience.

There are other incredible WWII sites close by that are associated with D-day that would be great to see as well (especially around the 80th anniversary!).
