I love Loire Valley as I spent most of my mission there, but not sure I'd choose to hit it over the beaches of Normandy
unless it's really a bucket list item for you to hit a specific chateau like Chenonceaux or something.
if you do go to the Loire, at least drive past Saumur castle. It's a very impressive sight up on a bluff, but not one of the more famous ones I hear people talk about.
