I appreciate the post, we will all miss the contribution that Cade could have made to the team. I hope all goes well for him.

I also wanted to mention that I had a missionary companion who felt that he was betrayed by BYU as well, except it was under Lavell not Crowton. He was a highly touted QB who was offered a schollie, and if I remember correctly he accepted the offer. Somehow another highly sought after QB (I don't know which one - may have been Engemann) wanted to accept the offer so they gave him my buddies scholarship. He seemed very hurt and I don't think he ever totally forgave BYU. He went to Ricks and finished as a backup at another D1 school. This is at least how the story was portrayed to me.

What I am trying to say is that Crowton may have made a mistake, and yes, maybe it wasn't the best thing, but coached are human. This type of situation has happened before and it will undoubtedly happen again, even under the best head coached (i.e. Lavell Edwards).
