I never said it was. I'm simply saying that the local news model is broken. Frankly, it no longer serves the purpose of actually getting news. It's goal is to produce content. The wave of one-man bands is slowly overtaking larger and larger markets. There are fewer reporters and more shows. More content, but less experienced journalists. Markets that, 10 years ago, would never consider hiring a reporter right out of college (Denver, SLC, Portland, Spokane, Austin) are now.
That's my point, to pile on the local news media (about this anyway) is wrongheaded. Pile on the model or the management, but not on the local journalists who are getting paid 30K and working 60 hours a week.
