I didn't say they have no part. I said - in response to your stance that they are an important filter to help sift out
those who don't have honest motives in attending BYU - that they have no part in that filtering process. And they don't, for the exact reason I said.
An adcom may like the context they give to an applicant, and that's fine. But they don't help reveal bad apples or wolves in sheep's clothing.

It’s really not. Too many kids are going to BYU in spite of what it stands for and not because of it.
