so you can't tell the difference. That's partly the point.

And if some don't cheat on it, but many do, what is the value of the essays in evaluating suitability for admissions, if they are given heavy weight? The answer is that they aren't. If any kid can hire a professional essay writer, or his older sister who is an attorney or other professional, or even a parent, to write his essay, it is of NO value to the evaluation and admissions process. None. At all. In fact, it's counterproductive because it may elevate an otherwise undeserving applicant over another who is deserving. The ease and frequency with which applicants and their families cheat on this aspect of applications render it almost meaningless in the admissions process.
