BYU doesn't run that.
In modern read option, it's all about the off-side defensive end in the 4-3 or OLB in the 3-4 unless the defense is scraping the ILB to the outside. That means the QB isn't checking, for the most part, to see if the RB has an open hole. The OL, which is supposed to have a numerical advantage because the off-side DE isn't block, is supposed to be able take the face-up DL or LB to whatever area is easiest and the RB is supposed to find the hole, with no more than one cutback.
