I'd say that's accurate
I'm sure there is an expectation bias. Most of the fans on this board still remember Anae's version of the Mike Leach offense, with lots of runs up the gut. Now, under the Rich Rod rip-off, the dives are still there (though coming from different formations, and as a result of the read-option) and it still bugs people.

I also suppose that perception is effected by the pace of the offense - a 3 and out is a lot more painful when the offense only spends 40 seconds on the field.

PS - I also think that Oregon runs up the middle too much (maybe this proves your point ). IMO, that's why Oregon lost to Auburn in the title game (their offense moved the ball like it was easy until they got inside the 10 and stopped passing)
