Keep in mind, that's apparently for all media, not just from the football contract, so you have to back out TV and radio revenue for basketball, whatever BYU is getting from BYUTV, whatever BYU is getting for its football and basketball radio rights, and whatever other media revenue BYU is getting. This would fall right in line with what Brett McMurphy reported, which was nearly $4 million per year:

Given that these numbers are coming from both BYU and ESPN they seem pretty reliable. It looks like BYU is getting about a million more per year from its ESPN football contract than Boise is. I would assume that if BYU worked out a similar preferred partner deal with ESPN it could get more than Boise. In other words, the financial difference appears to be less than a million bucks.
