That's based on the ACC media contract - $280M per year for about 50 games of inventory AND the B1G media contract - $440M per year for about 50 games of inventory...and assuming that football is about 2/3 of the contract value and that the conference championship game is worth about $20-30M per year.
Some of the marquee games are worth more, and the bottom of those 50 are worth less. So, I wouldn't be surprised if BYU is able to fetch $3M for each of its best games from 2020 to 2025. Whoever signs with BYU after 2019 will get some great games:
- BYU-Tennessee
- BYU-Michigan St.
- BYU-Stanford (x2)
- BYU-Arizona
- BYU-Arizona St.
- BYU-Virginia (x2)
- BYU-Minnesota
- BYU-Missouri
- BYU-Utah (likely multiple times)
- BYU-Boise St. (x2+)
That is WAY better than the known inventory when BYU and ESPN inked the initial independence media deal.
