Your last sentence is the most important. He wants some qualified w/o an ego
and someone who want not undermine him, meaning K-Whitt. Anae fits that role. He would be good, subservient and loyal. Loyalty is most important when the ship may be going down and you stick on the defensive side of the ball. You need an OC that is good and that you can trust. That is the Doctor. Utah's problem, too, was injuries at QB. If they had a good QB, they would have done better in the PAC-12. It is just not the system; you have to have a QB.
