My Story of LDS "help"
So we are moving wards and houses within the stake, about 25 miles. The old ward offers to help us move and we load the truck. I call the knew ward and talk to the EQP, tell him that we have a truck and we would like to have help, probably 5-6 people an hour or two. He says yes, he has the guys and will have them there. We load the truck, about a dozen people show up. Old ward says "hey can we follow you and help you unload?". My answer "no, this will be a good opportunity to get to know our new ward."

We drive to new house with my cousin. We are there on time, nobody shows up. My cousin and I spend all day un-loading the truck. Next day the new bishop stops by, asks me how we are doing. I tell him story, he says "oh, our EQP just moved (military so his was paid), he was always complaining that this is not the church of JC of moving day saints (or something to that effect)"

I never met the guy, but I will never forget his kindness of letting me get to know the new ward. I try and have tried to go to every move that I can for the last 30 years. It is a good way of supporting each other and welcoming people and telling people thanks for their service in the ward, we will miss you.
