Take it for what it is worth, but I was talking to a kicking coach the other week and asked him that question. His response was that BYU switched out it ball for Taysom. Apparently Taysom likes a ball that is a bit narrower and this obviously has an affect on kicking distances. I didn't know it but, each team uses their own balls on offense and kickoffs and they can really vary from team to team. The kickers are doing great based on the tools they are given.
