Using new footballs are like kicking a brick... they need to be broken in!
Which prevented longer kicks in the UCONN game...
Trevor Samson has the longest leg of the kickers and can kick into the endzone (out of the back of the endzone, when he really gets a hold of one), but he has less height / hang time than Andrew Mickleson.
Right now, the coaches want the team to have the opportunity to hit the receiving team and have an opportunity for a turnover on the kickoff.
