I do not believe this. The kickers are not getting the height on the ball
that I would expect to see if this was our game plan. The kick offs are only in the air about 3.5 seconds. The good college/NFL guys consistently hit 4.5 of hang time. A good high school kicker can get close to 4 seconds of hang time. There are at least 3 Utah high school kickers that I know of that could hang the ball up in the air 4.2-4.5 seconds if they were trying to land the ball at the 10 like BYU kickers do. Granted College is 5 yards back, but still. BYU's kickers simply do not have the leg strength and/or kicking technique to get the ball into the end zone, so the best spin on that is BYU's kick coverage is great.
