I think they may be able to make an argument in a year or two....
Lets say for example you have undefeated G5 teams continually left out of the playoff. You have conferences like the SEC and ACC say you can't get in because you have a weak strength of schedule. Then the SEC and ACC say we won't let you play us because we don't think you are good enough. By controlling who can schedule who, you are still controlling college football. I personally think they are on shakier grounds for potential monopoly lawsuits now than they were before.

Realistically the SEC and ACC are controlling the playoffs by their scheduling agreement. Even if BYU manages to get a total of 6 games vs the P5 schools a year, the SEC and ACC homers on the selection committee will still say, but they didn't play 12 games like the SEC or ACC people did.

No matter who is on the selection committee there will always be voters with a preconceived notion that the SEC, ACC and other P5 conferences are 10x better than anyone else.
