Football is just a more scrutinized sport. Lot's more money involved.
Basketball programs cost SO much less to field, and the salaries are way less in comparison. Less fans attend basketball, WAY less fans watch the games, and donors are less abundant for basketball programs.
So it makes sense (At least to me) that a basketball coach gets quite a bit more forgiveness than a FB coach.
