It doesn't hurt that Nebraska is the only program in the entire state.
Come to think of it, it's probably the only thing to do for hundreds of flatland miles. What are the alternatives? Farming?

In Utah, we have 2 major universities within 40 miles of one another and then Utah state an hour and a half north. Not to mention the Jazz, real Salt lake have some games during the season as well.

I get that Nebraska is die hard. But I think much of that is by default not due to loyalty to the program.
