When the going gets tough
You know the rest.

Ahh, the fan mentality. Sometimes fans can be a bunch of idiots. Do we not realize that when things don't go our way, we've got to rededicate our efforts and strengthen our optimism and fight even harder?

Only the fairweather fans fold up and blow away. Negativity is catching and it's a bad, bad disease. Avoid it at all costs. I've always hated fairweather fans and negativity. It's been so bad on CB that I just had to quit reading the putrid crap that so many posters were pouring out. Really, they ought to be ashamed of themselves. Fairweather fans are such whiny little babies.

Yes, there are things to criticize. Mistakes have been made. Nobody's perfect. Blah, blah, blah. So what? Suck it up and keep on going. Tomorrow is a new day and a new game and a new season. Let's not forget that every game has a winner and a loser. Every win is hard fought struggle. Our goal must be to go undefeated. That is so very difficult. We were so close this year. Expectations were so high. But fate intervened and some key players got hurt. Adversity struck. So why don't we get on CB and whine about it? Like that will do some good.

So let's fire everybody and start over. Thankfully for you all, that probably isn't going to happen in your job or you'd be out the door. So we've got the best coaches we could find. Through years of hard work they almost got us to the pinnacle of college football success this year. But through no fault of their own, circumstances intervened and we got the short end. Tough, buddy, tough luck.

So what are we going to do about it? Whine, whine, whine. Write stupid posts advocating firing everyone, jumping off the bandwagon, refusing to buy any more tickets or support the program? How stupid. Really. Think about it. If we're real fans, we only strengthen our support. We invest a bit more of ourselves into this whole endeavor and do a bit more to try and make it succeed. We want the players and coaches to be fully invested. Then can the fans do any less?

Our players and coaches did suck it up. We have turned it around. We struggled through adversity but fortunately, the players and coaches are not whiny losers. We've made a decent year out of what could have been much worse. We should only be proud and grateful of the effort everyone has made. Good time to be thankful for BYU football.
