And I don't think we can contend for championships in major sports.
Especially football. It could happen in basketball because you can lucky with just a few, select players.
But the game of football has changed. BYU will always continue to be BYU and uphold its standards. Because of this, BYU will never be able to run a program that will compete with the Alabama's of the world. Nor would I support BYU lowering its standards to do so.
Sure, the stars can align and BYU can do very well any given year. But BYU will not be a national power year in and year out while maintaining its standards.
