benefitting from the system is putting it lightly for 2001 Staley
The way Doman had the option mastered was the real thing of beauty. Staley ran for so many yards untouched because of Doman and the option. It would be like a wr getting multiple guaranteed blown coverages every single game. It would be like a qb playing against a 5-alligator rush rule.
Staley showed greatness as a freshman and sophomore but his ypc was lackluster and his vision just wasn't great, which is why he didn't run great between the tackles.
