You're misreading the data from that article. The data isn't showing that the church doesn't care about the poor or that the uneducated are leaving. It is actually pointing out that in most cases, higher wealth and education lead to people leaving their faith as it no longer makes sense or is not needed. In the church, the opposite is true. The poor and the needy come to church and as they become wealthier and more educated, they are even more likely to stay.
