Does this issue affect me personally? No. Rather, it exposes a personality flaw.
I could make an observation: The sky looks blue today.
Others respond: You're an idiot. You don't know what your talking about. I can't believe you would waste time looking at the sky. You can't prove the sky is blue. etc. etc.
Rather than just ignore all of the illogical and juvenile responses, I have the flaw that at times I jump in and begin to respond. I also sometimes will find more facts and/or observations that support my earlier observations--which for some inexplicable reason only serves to further infuriate those who attacked my observation about the blue sky in the first place.
Based on the responses to this thread, you'd think I had called Mother Theresa a whore or something. Good times.
