You're right, my suggestion should be more clear.
However, anytime someone says something vague and useless like this: "According to a stats program I use.." they are going to be mocked.

I wasn't trying to suggest he perform a MANOVA on this data alone, I was suggesting he go obtain data for explanatory variables. This would allow him to make some meaningful conclusions and he clearly has the time and motivation to do it. As of right now he can't conclude anything and his posting history is full of wild conjecture about what these numbers mean without any data to support his suggestions.

It is the same as me saying: "Hey look! The Patriots started to fumble less frequently in 2007. iPhones came out in 2007! Now I'm not saying there is a correlation, but IF there is then the Patriots are likely iMessaging* the opponents play calls to the defense. Wow, this iPhone scandal is a big, BIG deal that goes back YEARS."

These numbers on their own mean nothing and anyone who discusses them should realize that.

But seriously, has anyone done a test to see how frequently the Patriots fumbled before and after the release of the iPhone?

*I'm pretty sure iMessaging wasn't available until years later, but just go with me on this one.
