It also depends on what you would like to do.
In my experience, BYU's IS program prepared us for real-life systems design and development. It doesn't get into some of the hardcore CS theory, but sets you up for success in a much wider range of career choices. I was hired by an IT consulting firm, and my friends from the program now work in a large spectrum of jobs including everything from more project-management type roles to straight-up software development.
