My brother has been with Microsoft for years. Over that time he has recruited developers from the Utah schools on many, many occasions. He said he couldn't care less where someone gets their degree--they just have to smart. Having said that, out of the Utah schools he hires the most from Utah's CS department, quite a few from BYU, and an occasional student from USU. He stated flat out that "I've never hired anyone from UVU. I just haven't found a single student from UVU that would make it--yet."

EDIT: I just re-read this post and realized how harsh it sounds. Sorry about that. Obviously my brother's point of view is just one guy's opinion. If I were you, I would transfer to Utah or BYU if you can.
