This is the way to go.
Love the Roubaix....good choice HC.
You'll have to balance how much you can spend with how new/used a bike to get and the things that are important to you. I just bought a 5 year old bike (Specialized Secteur Sport) that I love. Especially for what I paid. For me, it was a way to get a good bike at the right price to get me a road bike. I plan to upgrade in 6 months to a year. Odds are I'll be able to sell the bike then for basically the same thing I paid for it.
