voluntarily giving up all that extra revenue (BYU is making about $20 million more per year now than our last year in the MWC) help in any way? We make almost as much money in a SINGLE football game on ESPN that we did for the entire year for all sports with the MWC media deal. BSU has carved themselves out a bit better deal in the MWC since that time, but it's still not what BYU is making from ESPN. And, the ESPN deal is only for football. Take into account the $$ from the WCC media deal and BYUtv sponsorships for football games, and that's another nice boost in money. I just don't see how returning to a conference with a much less lucrative media deal is going to help anything at all.
