If possible one that was educated in the US. Probably difficult in Joao Pessoa.

So my mission Hospital/Medical stories. I got amoebic dysentery finally convinced my companion it was serious enough to seek treatment. He took me to a Santa Casa de Misercordia (Charity Hospital) and that was I think the scariest experience of my life... Height of AIDS, gay male nurse giving me IV's on a gurney that was still bloody / dirty from the previous patients. If what I had wasn't going to kill me treatment in that surely was going to do me in.

Later during my mission I had a companion that needed surgery to fix a rectal fissure. By going through the Mission doctor (educated in the US) and referral to a specialist(educated in the US) he had surgery in a private hospital that was quite frankly as good as if not better than my rural home US hospital. Care was incredible, facility awesome and I had a great sleep in his room that was set up for some one to stay with the patient.
