Uh, it's says BYU football didn't recruit him in the first sentence. I was
Making a distinction between BYU and BYU football. And he was on academic scholarship from day one which means BYU, not BYU football, recruited him for intellectual reasons and not for athletic ability. As the post prior to my post said BYU didn't recruit him, but BYU did recruit him just not as a football player.
