members without shrinking the pie...Why is it that the Big12 has been lying to everyone for the past 4-5 years about the pie shrinking? It's not like Boren just went to ESPN/Fox last month and said "Hey guys, if we expand will you keep the revenue per team the same?" and ESPN/Fox said "Sure!" out of the goodness of their hearts.
The presidents of the Big12 have to have known from Day One that they signed their contracts with ESPN/Fox that they could add teams without taking a "cut in pay", yet for the past 4-5 years all we have heard out of the Big12 is that they couldn't expand by taking the likes of BYU/Cincy/Memphis/UCF because none of them would bring in enough revenue to keep the other 10 schools from getting a pay cut.
Hey, I want into a P5 conference as much as anyone, but it kinda makes you wonder about the kind of people you're dealing with when you find out you (and everyone else) have been lied to for convenience' sake and now that the cookies look to be beginning to crumble for some members in the Big12 the real truth comes out.
